LEIUBÜROO | Exhibition and workshop by Clare Alexandra Jackson (AUS)

8 October 2015 | 19.00 | Printing Museum (Kastani 42, Tartu)

Australian artist in residence, Clare Jackson, will be exhibiting work developed during her residency at Trükimuuseum. Clare has been working alongside master printmaker Kalju experimenting with a number of sustainable printmaking techniques while also completing a drawing project using found paper, specifically focusing on ‘forgotten’ places such as the abandoned rooms of the Aparaaditehas factory. Clare uses drawing as a means to translate her surroundings, interested in the sense of absence and fragility in these spaces where time appears to have stopped.

This exhibition is the culmination for Clare’s one-month residency in Tartu, during which she has produced a number of works on paper and small ceramic pieces. Displayed together they form an archive of moments spent engaging with various spaces and reflect her interest in the fragility of time and memory.

-WORKSHOP-
Additionaly, Clare will give a photo etching workshop. This technique uses photographs transfered onto metal plates to create unique imagery and textures. There is absolutely no need to have any knowledge about printing techniques or the likes at all, everyone can participate in this basic workshop. The places are unfortunately limited; so be quick! You can register by sending an e-mail to clare.jackson5@gmail.com. If you want to use a picture of your own, you can send it to the same e-mail address.
